2020 Greenville District Event
WEEK 1
Friday, February 28th
On February 28th, the team made the trip to Greenville High School. The day before, the Robowranglers had allowed the team to practice at their facilities. Thank you FRC 148 for letting us practice. Once the team arrived, they started helping the Robowranglers with field set up. Later that night, we set up our pit and went back to the hotel to prepare for the competition.
Saturday, February 29th
The team arrived at the venue early Saturday morning. Team members spread the word about FIRST Signing Day and talked to teams about signing up for it. 2468 also set up a SACOT booth at the event and talked to many teams about signing up and advocating for STEM. A group of Appreciators helped teams in their pits with their robot’s programming, electronics, and bumpers. After the 1st day of qualification matches, Team Appreciate was ranked 4th and Team Apprentice was ranked 3rd. We were excited for the second day of the competition.
Sunday, March 1st
At the end of qualification matches on Sunday, 2468 was ranked 2nd and 2687 was ranked 3rd. The Appreciators remained hard at work to ensure all the teams had a successful second day of competition. Team Appreciate, BBQ, and the Belton New Tech SpaceMakers teamed up for playoffs and Team Apprentice, The Black Hawks, and Westerner Robotics made up another alliance. Team Apprentice, unfortunately, lost in the quarterfinals but won the Autonomous Award! Team Appreciate won the finals and received the Chairman’s award! Thank you to the team’s sponsors, mentors, and supporters for helping both teams achieve their goals. We appreciate you!
