2021 Westlake Robotics Summer Camps
We will host one Zoom-only camp but all other camps will be in person at Westlake High School. We are excited to offer the opportunity for families and cannot wait to see your child in the camps. If you have not previously enrolled with our robotics program or summer camp, you will need to create a family account first followed up by registering each child you are interested in attending camp.
Camp costs are $412.00 per camp. Camps will be from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on Monday - Thursday. Friday will end at 1:30 PM. We encourage parents and families to spend a little time with us on the last day to let students show/demonstrate some of their activities for the week. All camps are taught and supervised by Eanes ISD teacher and will have counselors from Westlake and Eanes ISD robotics students.
See the lists of camps below with descriptions, dates, ages, etc.

-- FIRST LEGO League (FLL) in a week
2021 Incoming 3rd - 6th grades
July 5th - 9th, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, M - Th, Early out on Friday
Location: Westlake High School Robotics Building
A fun, interactive, hands-on camp for kids who are interested in LEGO robotics. Students will learn how to build and program an EV3 LEGO robot to compete in an FLL Challenge scrimmage at the end of the week. They will learn the basics of building a sturdy and reliable robot, as well as techniques for strategizing and scoring points. This camp is the perfect introduction to FLL Challenge but will provide plenty of challenges for students who already have a year or two of FLL under their belt.
If the student has a Spike Prime LEGO robot kit at home they would like to build with, they are welcome to bring it. A limited number of Spike Prime kits will be available to build with.
-- Go from ZERO to WOW with the new VEX Go Robotics

2021 Incoming 3rd - 6th grades
July 12th - 16th, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, M - Th, Early out on Friday
Location: Westlake High School Robotics Building
The new VEX GO platform is designed for students in Grades 3rd -6th. It is similar to the VEX IQ platform but the pins are easier to insert and remove, the pieces are color-coded for easy reference and it uses VEX Code to program the robot. VEX Code is used across all VEX platforms. If interested, you can purchase the VEX GO Robot kit for your child to continue their STEM activities. Costs of the kit from camp will be $125.00 and can be added at registration. The camp provides instruction on building, programming, and problem-solving tasks. The programming software is free.
We are pleased to offer this new VEX Robotics platform for students in Grades 3 - 6. After completing this class they can compete in the VEX GO classroom challenge "Level Up". Information on how to participate is provided during the course.
